Academic career

Taguhi Torosyan is an art worker from Yerevan, Armenia. In 2012-2017 she has curated Nest Artists Residency and Community Center program at ICA Yerevan. In 2015-2017 she has been a visiting professor at the Department of Art History, Theory and Management at YSITC. As an artist and curator, she has shown in Armenia and internationally at Aalborg University Copenhagen, Schwankhalle Bremen, LOFFT Leipzig, seas x festival in Batumi, Center of Contemporary Art, Tbilisi, and Armenian Center for Contemporary and Experimental Art in Yerevan.

Passionate about cinema and performance, I have initially had a privelege to work at major theatre and film festivals in Armenia, including the Golden Apricot IFF and HIGH FEST Performing Arts Festival in 2005-2009. I have also briefly collaborated with the National Cinema Center of Armenia in 2011-2012; as a program officer of International cooperation depratment I have coordinated the Armenian pavillion at Marché du Film, Cannes Film Festival in 2011. After leaving NCCA, my activities have focused on independent curatorial  projects and art practice, as well as the design of community -based events and art projects at Nest AiR and Community Center of ICA Yerevan. In 2016-2017 I have also collaborated with PicsArt, Inc. an Armenian Photo Editor Studio startup app, as a curator of actionable explore, an app section formed with user content. My main tasks have included assisting the AI image recognition and analysis  training.
