Consortium and Student

agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • The student will participate in MediaAC, approved by the European Commission under Grant No. 2018-1546 / 001 001 with the Coordinator, under the responsibility for conducting MediaAC is the Center for Image Science.

The regulations set out in the following documents form an integral part of this student agreement:

  • Erasmus+ Programme Guide in the most recent version, available at
    http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/discover/guide/index_en.htm
  • The information provided on MediaAC website (www.mediaartscultures.eu)
  • The application form of University for Continuing Education Krems signed by the student and submitted to the Coordinator, including the Ordinance regarding the legal terms and conditions for enrolment in, and carrying out of, university courses at University of Continuing Education Krems (according to University Bulletin 2013/ No.82 dated August 19, 2013)
  • The application documents that the student has submitted to the Coordinator.

Participation costs are defined with 16.000 € for the whole programme (four semesters/maximum 24 months). For students from Erasmus+ Programme Countries, the MediaAC Consortium applies a fee waiver of 7.000 €, so the participation costs are defined with 9.000 € for the whole programme (four semesters/maximum 24 months).

Expectations of Student

By signing the Student Agreement, the student commits him/herself on his or her honour to duly attend the MediaAC programme and attend the prescribed lectures, examinations and internship as set out in the curriculum and published by the Consortium. He/she commits him/herself to deliver the expected student work in accordance with the joint programme’s requirements in order to be allowed to continue participating in the MediaAC programme.

The student allows the partners of the Consortium to exchange information related to the student’s participation in MediaAC programme, e.g. information contained in the student’s application documents, contact details, grading and assessment data and information related to student administration. The Consortium will solely use this information for student administration purposes.

The student understands that the mobility in the Internship and Independent and 4th Semesters will be decided by the Consortium and be communicated in due time, the student agrees that the final decision for allocating students to the placement universities lies with the MediaAC Consortium.


The student commits him/herself to uphold the Consortium’s rules of conduct and regulations of the MediaAC master course in general, but also of the host institutions, as set out in the national and institutional frameworks of the partners and made available to the student by the respective consortium partner.

The student agrees to get a personal e-mail-address fromthe University for Continuing Education Krems at the be-ginning of the programme (firstname.lastname@edu.donau-uni.ac.at) and accepts that information concerning his/her studies will only be sent to this e-mail-address. An eventual forwarding of mail from this address to another e-mail-address will be in the responsibility of the student.

The student has the right to all the normal student services and facilities offered to local students of the consortium partners.

The student understands that he/she can be excluded from the MediaAC Master Course for the following reasons:

  • In case of non-attendance to the MediaAC course (lectures, seminars, practical sessions, obligatory internship, field trips, informative and official meetings etc.).
    Non-attendance will not lead to exclusion if the student can justify the non-attendance with medical certificates or if a permission for non-attendance has been granted by the MediaAC staff (for this permission, the student shall ask in advance if possible and the permission shall be noted in written form),
  • or if the student fails to validate a semester of study,
  • or if the student is the subject of disciplinary measures leading to his/her exclusion from a MediaAC Partner University,
  • or if the student is the subject of legal prosecutions that prevent him/her from attending the MediaAC programme,
  • or if the student does not act according to the rules of conduct:
    to uphold the dignity of other students and staff;
    to uphold  the reputation of the MediaAC program and its Partner Institutions including
    their capacity for program implementation;
    to conduct themselves according to academic ethics;
    and to respect the possessions of the MediaAC program and its Partner Institutions.
  • or if the student withdraws from the MediaAC programme, on his/her own decision or by force majeure.

In such an event of exclusion, amounts to be paid or reimbursed depend on student staus and time of exclusion. For futher explination, applicants accepted into the program are sent an unsigned example of the Student Agreement. All applicants may request a copy during the application review phase.


Expectations of Consortium

The Consortium is obliged to deliver the joint programme as defined in the joint curriculum in relation the programmes content, structure, mobility tracks, participation costs and degrees awarded.

he Consortium is obliged to provide support to students of the MediaAC master course when it comes to the organization of their mobilities foreseen in the master course and during installation in the host universities.

The Consortium is obliged to provide all necessary information to the student in relation to

  • the content of the masters course (content, study methodology, learning outcomes),
  • examination methodologies, procedures and criteria; this includes the timetable and conditions for re-sits as well as the performance threshold to be reached in order to continue participation in the joint programme
  • results of written examinations and other ways of student performance, which should be provided within a reasonable time from the date the work was submitted to evaluation. An opportunity should be arranged for the student to discuss with the teacher responsible and/or to see the written or otherwise recorded evaluation of his/her performance.
  • organisational matters (academic calendar, student services, visa regulations for the host countries, health and accident insurance)

The Consortium commits itself to keep information described above up to date.

A student dissatisfied with the evaluation of study attainments or a master’s thesis may request rectification verbally or in writing of the teacher performing the evaluation and, in the case of the evaluation of a master’s thesis, in writing from the body responsible in the host university and the MediaAC Consortium.

The Consortium commits itself to quality assurance measures, coordinated by the Consortium’s Quality Board, including the students, teachers and stakeholders perspective and covering the following levels of evaluation:

  • a programme evaluation at the end of the programme
  • semester evaluation at the end of each semester

As to the quality assurance measures mentioned in §21, the student commits him/herself to support the Consortium through active participation.


The enrolment fees for the given course duration of four semesters/maximum 24 months is included in the participation costs as described above. For enrolment beyond the given course duration, enrolment fees have to be paid by the student:

For University for Continuing Education Krems, the fees are set in the notification bulletin 2015/no. 06 dated 26 January 2015, regulation on fees for exceeding the duration of studies stipulated in the curriculum (“Verordnung über Gebühren bei Überschreitung der vorgesehenen Studiendauer”), in the respective valid version. Currently the fees are € 125.- per term/semester for the first two terms and € 250.- from the third term exceeding the duration of studies onwards. Amount is subject to change. The student is aware that due to the joint degree structure enrolment fees for enrolment beyond the given course duration have to be paid to the Consortium Coordinator.
